Album Notes
Released in 1995 and, sadly, lost in the mix of rush of releases back then, Hank were a excellent Boston-based band who blended some of the best musings of rootsy Gin Blossoms-styled pop as one could have heard. Like that band mixed with a more hard-driving Jayhawks brand of Stones inspired rock, The Sidewinders and Green On Red, Hank have a distinct Desert-rock sound that is tight, focused and powerful, at all turns. Still, it retains a loose-spirit that all good records retain – big Riff-driven guitar hooks, storming vocals and melodies that have refrains that would have sounded very much at home during the early/mid 90`s rock radio of that time. This is an insanely creaky, catchy and bittersweet rock `n pop record. Bittersweet only because Hank should have been known by more.
