This tribute to the Los Angeles hip-hop group the Black Eyed Peas features a variety of entertainingly cavernous dub versions of tracks from their phenomenally successful ELEPHUNK and MONKEY BUSINESS albums, including the dancehall-like "Let's Get Retarded," the rapid-fire "Don't Phunk With My Heart," and the perky, percussive "Union."
The Black Eyed Peas are a complete package. Beginning as a breakdance crew, the Black Eyed Peas gradually incorporated strong mic skills into their stage show. Their feel-good messages soon found a following in Los Angeles, the home of gangsta rap. In 2003, the rest of the world caught on to the Black Eyed Peas. The smash single "Where Is the Love?" powered Elephunk to platinum success and with this momentum in hand, the Black Eyed Peas followed up with the genre-crossing Monkey Business.
